Dear ESL All subscribers
from all around the world,
Have you ever heard of
ESL (English as a Second Language), EFL(English
as a Foreign language) or Business English blogs?
Do you clearly understand what the terms "blog" or "weblog" refer
to? A weblog, which is usually shortened to blog,
is a type of website where entries are made (such
as in a journal or diary) and displayed in a reverse
chronological order. As blogs usually deal with
a specific topic, the ten blogs, which we have
selected for you this month provide commentary,
news and information on English learning and teaching.
A typical blog contains
mostly text, but can also contain images, and links
to other resources and blogs, web pages, and other
media related to the topic under discussion. There
is therefore a lot more to explore at blogsites
than what first meets the eye, which is usually
the last dated textual entry showing at the top
of the homepage.
This month's issue features
blogsites that cover a wide range of topics dealing
with general and business English, topics that
can be useful to both English learners and teachers.
For those who would like to push the exploration
a little further, our last suggested link provides
a collection of close to one hundred other English
learning blogsites available for free on the web .
Do not hesitate to send
us your comments or questions if you have any.
Happy blogging!
